If you are looking for a loving companion
and friend you could do no better that give a retired Greyhound
a home. They make wonderful pets and demand nothing more than
a short walk and somewhere cosy and comfortable to sit and sleep.
Do not think you have to walk miles, a short walk is really all
                they need.
My family and I have a greyhound at
home. He is called PJ who is now 10 years old. We have had PJ
since he was six weeks old and got him from the West Oxford Animal
Rescue. He was so tiny and cute and just looked like a
baby badger because his markings were black and white. Until recently
we had my Daughter Zoe's retired racer at home. His racing name
was Before Dawn but his pet name was Dobbin; sadly he passed away
in June 2005 aged 14 years.

Both PJ and Dobbin have made wonderful
pets. PJ is very gentle with my Granddaughters who love him and
has his own individual character and can be a great source of
                entertainment at times.
              Dobbin(Before Dawn) Although he wasn't
the fastest dog on the track but he gave Zoe enjoyment during
his racing days. His claim to fame was a New Years Day Trophy
at Reading and Dog of the Month at Oxford (June 1995). He has
made a lovely pet over the last eight years and will be sadly
                missed.
There are many trainers who have Greyhounds
looking for a loving home. If you would like to consider offering
a home I know that they would be more than happy to talk to you
and answer any questions you would like to ask.
Greyhounds are both loving and loyal
and are just looking for someone to love them in their retirement.
